I was so excited when I opened a box I had been storing in my garage and found videos of me performing in my school play, travels overseas in my early 20s and so many other almost forgotten memories…. The PHOTO MANAGER can give them a new lease on life by converting them and being able to share with family and friends.

WHAT IS THE CHARGE TO GET STARTED? 

There’s no deposit to get started.  You will send the items to me via courier. I convert them and send an invoice when the project is complete, this includes a return courier fee.

DO I GET THE TAPES BACK?

It’s up to you! On the PROJECT FORM, you’ll indicate if you want me to return the original items in addition to the digital files, or if you would like me to recycle them.

HOW DO I GET THE DIGITAL FILES BACK?

The digital files are returned on a flash drive – one is included with each conversion project (minimum number of scans apply) If you’d like additional flash drives (maybe one for every sibling, for example) I charge the cost of the drive. I can also electronically transfer your photos if you prefer.

HOW ARE THE DIGITAL FILES ORGANISED?

I create a digital folder structure that matches your physical organisation. For example, if your tapes are labelled by year or event/s, I will create digital folders that match those descriptions- each will become its own digital folder.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

It depends on the number of tapes but usually within 3-4 weeks.  The conversion process is time-consuming as it transfers over in real-time; for example, a 2-hour tape will play for 2 hours while the video is captured on the computer. I’ll do my best to convert all your tapes, but some may simply be too old, accumulated too much mould or damp, or have been irreparably damaged before storage. I will keep in touch with you if it’s taking a bit longer or if I run into problematic tapes.

HOW SHOULD I SEND THE ITEMS?

After you submit the PROJECT FORM, I’ll send you packing instructions and postal address.

I’M A BIT NERVOUS TO COURIER MY MEMORIES…

I think our courier services are relatively reliable, but I get it, and if you’re concerned about using courier services, I recommend sending items to me in smaller batches. You don’t have to send everything in one box at once!

CAN I INCLUDE VIDEOS + PHOTOS IN THE SAME BOX?

Absolutely! I’ll digitise prints, negatives, slides, VHS Tapes, camcorder tapes, CDs, and DVDs… you can send all of it to me!
